My 23 year old paint horse "Blue" had Vet diagnosed
navicular syndrome with severely contracted heels.  He had a
high level of discomfort and lack of mobility.  I am so grateful
and amazed at his recovery due to Don's work with him...it's
like I have a new young horse who kicks up his heels and
runs with comfort.

My 23 year old Arab "Susko" had very long toes and high
heels that hampered his movement in general.  He now is in
great shape and moves like a young endurance horse.

I highly recommend Don for his many talents and great skill
with hoof care and horses! Thank you!!

Barefoot Trims for Your Horse
I began having Don Miller trim my horse’s feet in June of
2009.  My horse’s feet were all very tender and two of them
had abscessed.  Since Don has been trimming them they
have all made huge changes.  Their feet are now healthy
and much tougher than ever before.  I can walk them on our
gravel driveway without them being tender footed.

Don is very friendly and reliable.  He is the best trimmer or
farrier I’ve ever hired.  He has a very calm and patient
disposition and he does a great job at working through
issues that your horses might have.  I really appreciate the
way he handles my horses.

Hi Don:

Thanks so much for checking in on us.  The boys are both
good.  They were a little tender on Friday but seemed fine by
Saturday/Sunday.  Moonshein had a full on running fit on
Saturday and we took them both on a short trail ride on
Sunday.  Stuck to the payment but we actually trotted
Moonshein a little and he was moving just fine!  Really
exciting. The Gloves are working really great too.  Mom used
them on the trail ride and she thinks they're a much better fit
now.  Thanks so much for helping her with that.

I owe a huge amount of the credit to you for getting
Moonshein (and Briggs) sound.  We have some very
different and happy horses on our hands these days.  Look
forward to seeing you too!

Don Miller is my horses' barefoot trimmer extraordinaire.
When I contacted him in June of 2007 their feet were in
terrible shape. Even though they were trimmed on a regular
schedule, they were refusing to trot and a canter was out of
the question. They all had thrush, which I could not clear up,
and their heels were compacted. Their hooves were
completely flat with no concavity.

I noticed a difference in their attitude soon after Don's first
trim and today their feet are perfect. We trot and canter with
ease.  I use easy boots on all four feet while riding rocky
trails.

Please folks, do your horses a favor and allow them the
comfort of Don's wonderful barefoot trims.

I’ve had horses for the past 43 years and up until 3 years
ago I’ve always had shoes put on them. This was not only
very expensive, especially when you have more then 5
horses but also very frustrating when losing a shoe right
before a ride or during and then hoping to find a farrier to
deal with it quickly.

Then 3 years ago I researched the barefoot trim and thought
I would try it, I tried several barefoot trimmers but still had
angle problems or horses that got abscesses and even after
a year they couldn’t be ridden without boots on.

When my mustang began to show signs of lameness after
always having tough hooves and never wearing shoes, I
decided on someone new, so I called Don Miller, from the first
time, I saw a change in my horse’s hooves. Some of them
have taken a few months to improve because they’ve always
had shoes or abscesses. My Mustang, Arab and Tennessee
Walker don’t even wear boots and have no issues going on
gravel trails.

I have been with Don Miller for a year now and he’s great with
the horses, in handling them, including my foals and stallion,
they love him and Don really loves horses and is very
patient. He is on time, professional and good with problem
horses, attitude and hoof problems. We have 16 horses now
and highly recommend Don Miller.

Very Happy Customer,

In my ten years of owning horses, and many more riding
them, I have found Don Miller to be a rarity in the equine
world.

Extremely devoted to continuous learning and understanding
of the hoof- Don is a  self proclaimed “hoof geek”. I have
never meet anyone so excited and eager to see healthy
progress of a horse’s hoof- and genuinely concerned about
the overall wellbeing. Don has kindly and enthusiastically
explained each step of both my horses progress in two years
of working together, and I have learned a great deal through
his teaching.

My mare Lyric is a young 6 year old, impatient, strong-willed
horse, and I was surprised to see Don’s constant patience
with her, working with her and rewarding her for standing still
by letting her hoof down, and taking his time to not only
carefully trim her feet, but also to ensure that it remained a
positive experience as well. She is much more comfortable on
rocky surfaces, and her feet have been transformed over the
past 18 months from a platter like shape to well heeled, solid
hooves.

My other horse Tucker, is an eighteen year old Morgan
cross, with the hardest, most solid feet I’d ever seen. We do
Endurance racing, and cover 30 miles within a morning. I
attribute our success, and Tucker’s soundness to Don’s
consistent care. Tucker has even stronger feet than before,
and the natural concavity that develops from this unique style
of trim allows me to ride Tuck barefoot on many of these long
rides.

I would feel confident recommending Don to the strongest
believer of horse-shoeing- and challenge them to see the
difference in their horse- with natural barefoot trimming. Not
everyone can be a barefoot trimmer- as there is definitely a
specific manner in which they need to be shaped and filed,
but Don had devoted his time and energy to learning this art-
and the results are wonderful!

Best,

Gretchyn Duval (Tucker and Lyric)
